Random comic clippings 3: Dan Dare & Leslie Ash

This year saw the 60th anniversary of Dan Dare, an anniversary that came and went without a huge amount of coverage. Ten years ago it was a slightly different story for the 50th anniversary, which received mentions in most of the national newspapers, such as this piece from the Daily Telegraph (20 March 2000).


And here's a piece from the Radio Times (5 July 1997) about a season of Radio 5 Live shows about Young Britain. One of the shows was about the evolution of teenage magazines and included contributions from Nina Myskow, ex-editor of Jackie, and Leslie Ash, who was a cover star of many girls' magazines back in the 1970s before she took a starring roll in Quadrophenia.
